Is the Retreat Co-Ed?

YEP! Our retreats are always co-ed. Black men in Behavior Analysis, we want to see you show up and show out!

What will we learn?

Our BCBA Retreat is worth 16+ CEU's and is centered in Organizational Behavior Management. We will discuss foundations of OBM, marginalization of Black ABA professionals and why reform is necessary, burnout and how it uniquely affects Black Behavior Analysts, and real-life applied information about how to build and scale an equitable company.

I am not a person of color, but I believe in your mission. Can I attend?

The Powerhouse Retreat is curated for Black Behavior Analysts. Heavy on the Black. ✊🏾

Here are ways that you can support our mission without taking up space at this retreat:

Send our information to a Black BCBA.
Speak up for a black BCBA at work without making it about color. For example, "Did you just cut him/her off?? His/Her opinions are valuable and need to be heard."
Let a black BCBA have the floor during your next meeting.
Ask your boss why your leadership team doesn't reflect the ratio of people of color in the organization, or of the people that you serve.
Make a point to spark conversations at work about clients in marginalized communities - and invite a Black BCBA to lead that conversation.
If your company provides services in a predominately BIPOC community, but you notice that there is only one token black person in leadership (or none at all), send an email to your CEO asking how this is possible without the help of discriminatory hiring practices.
